Jan 92 Dog goes to Long Beach to see Ted Robledo (guitar teacher)'s band, instead misses them, sees several other bands including the Living End (one of 3 Living Ends i am aware of: San Jose (which was first in the late 80s, then LA living end (early 90s), then the Australian Living End (rockabilly/punk). Anyway, the sound guy at the show tossed a mike stand halfway across the floor. He stalked away pissed off about something. "Now that's fucking punk rock!" I thought. next thing I know he 's on the stage playing guitar with a long haired bassist and an very large dude on a yellow drum kit- I had remembered there being a giant wig on him, but he also apparently had a double or triple mohawk. Kicking out some cool hardcore punk rock, I bought a tape and later learned that this was my first encounter with Daryl "Skytzo" Willis. Songs that I play currently in Codename Hardhat were part of the set list at that time.
Mr Scott's Pest Control 1991-93 (cover band;Beatles, Metallica, Fishbone songs) two shows Ted Robledo : guitar Sergio Robledo : bass Tim K: vocals Elizabeth K: guitar Dog: drums

"What's For Dinner?" 7" recorded and released by the Idiot Parade
Conflicting opinions on musical style cause the Idiot Parade to be disbanded Jan 98. Some control issues and musical differences raised their ugly head, so the best thing to do was pull the plug on the band in Jan 1998.
Special Guests: beginning Nov 97- Greg: guitar, bass on own material Dog: drums, bass on own material, some vocals Daryl: vocals, bass, guitar - see Skytzo

In Dec 98 Greg and I were searching for a bassist and put an ad in the Recycler online. A strangely familiar individual called up, and I discovered it was the same Skytzo who I'd seen kicking the hard jams back when I was in High School. We ended up jamming in Codename Hardhat and Special Guests.

Later, Beefstick was a jam band with CArl and Metal both on bass. Once in 94 Russ jammed guitar, and again once in 95, jammed with Gnu, this time with Carl on bass, russ on guitar, Metal on vocals, and Dog on guitar. Gnu hated it.
Nov- Dec 93: The Eyesores record as a two piece, using Dogs' solo 4 track recordings and overdubbing Metal's vocals, and also by recording in Metal's apartment with Dog's scaled down "guerilla" drumset- snare, bass drum, hi hat, and one cymbal, and Metal's bass. Paul from Jolt participated one night; these sessions were as much party as they were "sessions"
Video Store clerk Richard”MadDog” Lee is invited to join as guitar player but does not think the band is serious. He later returns for several stints in the band.
combined, the Eyesores tapes from 93 became first demo, "Hey Dicks, it's the Eyesores"

cowrote Snoozegod, and Just Can't be, but this lineup only played 4 shows.
Liquid Fun, with four new studio songs incl. SNoozegod, and live show from Oct 95.
A classic Metalhed tantrum, over beer of course.
Jan 96 Dog quits due to living situations.
Feb 96 Gnu quits ,stating that he can’t play w/out Dog. He immediately forms another group which disbands shortly. He then gives up music."i didnt quit music, i just cant play anywhere! The few years I was a part of this fiasco were amazing. Not always great, and not always fun, but always interesting. In retrospect I would go back and do it all again. We were so brazenly irreverent and irresponsible, just doing stuff you can't do when you're an adult. Well, actually, Metal was already an adult in years, so I guess you can still do that stuff as an adult. Metal's parties had some guests that were tough to comprehend, it was usually like visiting the cantina in Star Wars, the DMV, County, or the bus. All I have left to remind me is a couple of 7" records, and a pounding hangover. But when I remember Devious' drunkenness, Metal's incoherent tirades, Dog's enthusiasm to jam ALL the time, and the countless other members we went through, it makes me wish we could go back to 1994 and start over. Anyway that's it, sorry for the big words, some of them I don't even know what they mean. Gnu"- Gnu
March 96- Summer 96: MadDog & Metal hire on party buddies Al”MR.BROWN” & Steve “STAB” Cavlan.
MR. Brown: Drums Stab: Guitar Metal : Bass, vox MadDog :lead guitar
(Summer 96, played one "party" as five piece with Dog on bass, recorded aborted 7" project for which MadDog didn't show up, Dog subbed on guitar for Snoozegod, and on Bass for At least I didn't spit on you; Chris F played guitar)
MadDog leaves the band for Korea after July 4 96 show
"XXXmas" recorded at I'm Stein studios Nov 96 Dog fills in on bass for part of set Nov 96. Stab is not amused.
Summer of 97, Stab quits, due to stress and Dog subs on guitar during the summer for about six or seven shows. The band is Al, Metal and Dog. August 97, the band has two shows: Fairgrounds, and Fatty Mocha. Al could not be found due to mysterious circumstances, so Dog subs on drums; MadDog luckily happens to be in town visiting from Korea and fills on axe. Chuck (Peuk Chunx) begins playing songs on stage as a part time Eyesore in training, and plays a few of these summer 97 shows.
after the summer, Peuk takes over on guitar. Al returns but behaves erratically and begins training "Tha Kid" on drums.
Dog jams with the band Feb 98, playing various instruments
Dog comments on his cool shirt
1998 the band has a revolving door membership featuring MadDog Miester Brown, Tha Kid, Peuk, Neosporen (on drums), plays around San Jose After Tha Kid takes over on drums & plays 2 gigs, he is dismissed.Replacing him is “Neosporen Arrowfat” who proves to be the worst pick yet. Peuk and Metalhed's personalities clashed badly, leading to many bad situation. After 2 lousy shows,& piontless drama,Peuk & Neo are fired.
Shortly after this,Metal starts doing a stand-up poetry stint on Wednesdays w/ axeman Stab occasionally playing acoustic behind Metal’s lyrics.
Oct 1998:After a short break ,MadDog & Metal decide to play a show 2 days before halloween. They recruit Gnu who refuses to bring his drums & shows up drunk as usual.Metal gets arrested but manages to get out just in time.MadDog brings on “Pat Smith” former drummer of “Dreamfire”to fill in on skins. Metal’s pal “Rotten Robby” jams alongside MadDog @ this small nitetime sidewalk gig.
here is Gnu's account of things:
----Original Message Follows---- From: "Larry P."
Dec 1998: Dog returns on drums, MadDog on guitar, and the band plays in the park, returning to form. Jan 98 played at Jerseys. MadDog quits afterward to get married &; settle down.
Metal decides to recruit Rotten Robby. when this fails,Stab returns 4 good. Mar 1999 -
Dog:drums, Metal: bass Stab : guitar
Stab returns, two live albums are recorded (Mar and June 99)
June 99, the show is recorded digitally on a mobile recording unit in Ladoga as part of a weeklong rock festival. The Eyesores are the "headliner" , playing midday on a WEdnesday, and the audience of 20 or so is quite amused.
Dec 7 99 the band records an album of new tunes at I'm Stein, "Psycho Goth Kings". The night of Dec 6th (morning of dec 7th) the band runs through these songs at the student union at SJSU with the battery powered amps.
The weekend of Jan 15 2000, Metalhed visited Dogghead at his pad in Fullerton California. Beers were drank, jams were kicked. A collaboration of sorts occured between Special Guests and Metalhed (Special Guests are of course Dog and Greg. The tapes haven't been mixed down yet because the songs are hella long and I've been too busy mixing the great lost Eyesores album: XXXMAS recorded by the Al ' n Steve lineup of the band. But we did take some old Phallus Cooper material and dubbed vocals onto it. One Special Guests song was also done with Metal on vocals, this song had been written in 94 the same week that Tissue Tits and Soda Jerk were written, but for some reason was never played by the Eyesores. Years later, it was revived for the Special Guests, and it was this version, recorded in mid 99 that we dubbed Mental Hed's vocal track on. Soon available on CD with the "Cum Fill'd Cow" sessions.
AND HERE's WHAT HAPPENED NEXT>>...
