the Irritations at the Bum Steer in Hemet
it was a last minute show, we played with an Arizona band called Booby Trap (found here online at http://www.BoobyTrapMusic.com) who, like me, were upset over missing Primus this weekend, and covered Jerry as well as Wynona. A mix of prog/funk/metal with some punk rock parts, and featuring a conga player who also played sax. Entertaining, and providing a nice variety for the bill. then the Irritations went on, slopping thorough a few parts, but generally kicking the music in it's ass. Tom put on a witch's hat, and pissed off some girl in the audience by calling her a Moron- all in good fun of course. Ran into the guitarist from No Crisis. Owner was hella cool and kicked the beers, and even cooked me up a plate of fries- perfect for my hungry, broke sorry ass. Lots of fun, stayed up real late, got home, watched some Simpsons, finally went to sleep.
