The Eyesores live July 4th on KFJC and at House of Pizza
I pulled into San Jose to be greeted by the clown (that is Metalhed) hard at work at House of Pizza, so I sat around and read "2001". We ended up practicing at San Jose State, but Stab had seen cops around earlier. We ended up compromising between my idea of bringing my guitar, and Metal's dingbat idea to use a trash can for percussion, and alternated. It sounded kind of funny, but it was good to know that we could take our act out to the pier and collect coins for playing. The damn mosquitos bit the shit out of me (my ankles are still itching). We make the mistake of staying up real late, drinking a few brews and listening to the first Blowfly album, and the result is we're tired as hell the next day. But we soldier on, load up, and go to KFJC in Los Altos. For those of you who don't know, KFJC is the best radio station in the bay area right now. Mostly freeform, the guy on after Dominic Trix (for example), rambled stream of consciousness rants about pirates, flags, etc. Cool. So we got soundchecking. We played in a small room full of records, and before we knew it, there were mikes everywhere. We played for an hour and a half, and spoke on the air a little bit, making fools of ourselves. Next we headed down to House of Pizza. Naturally, we had time to kill, and who should show up but previous drummer Al Brown. Once again, we did a fairly long set under the fireworks, and Meister Brown played drums for Clean And Full, demoting me to bass, which I proceeded to make a mess of, slapping, doing "Psychefunkapus bass solos" (a derogatory term Metal made up for ANY bass fills made by me on recordings when he didn't show up and SOMEONE had to play the bass; definition circa 1994 Clockwork Eyesore sessions). Anyway, the rest of the evening was semi uneventful. Pictures on the way.. next gig report should be July 13th. Peace out beeaaatch.
