"Stick Witch" live in Gilroy late '04, Metal, Dog, Meister, and Coreye. Tapeage by Stab, interference by Devious
Sunday, November 28, 2004 Show report!! Nov. 27, Gilroy Gaslighter Oh, how much I have to say about this one!!! First of all, every store in the world should sell Mountain Dew! In Gilroy, they don't seem to do that! JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!!! Well, nonetheless, Toowamp, as always put on a good show. Dorian handled the vocal duties, and put a new twist to the Toowamp sound! Man, come check these guys out!! We ended up being next. I figured we would be the headliner or next to at least. Now the problems begin. No rider on the show. (soon to be repaired) We were only allowed two mike outputs, plus the dumbass security guy figured out what a good idea it would be to try and cut our set short. Other than that, the show went off well. I need to work on Clean and Full, though!!!!!!!!!!!!! much love, coreye
Dog here: this was a perfect example of how great punk rock shows can be despite the presence of negative attitudes among venue employees. There was a metal band: Toowamp, of course our silly asses the Eyesores, then Miss Flo who were very Beat Happening sounding (to my ears, they also did a Heavens to Betsy cover), and another hardcore band Bitchin' Ayatollahs. I had a great time despite the security guy getting a bitchy little attitude. I think at some point he wanted me to move our gear to my truck. When I told him I was getting all the shit off the stage first, he told me, "go get your car!!". I said I'm going to get the rest of the stuff from the stage, and proceeded to do just that. Dork ass. the bands were cool, and the show was cool- People like that can't bum out my good time. Thanks to all the people at the show and all the bands, not to mention the Toowamp afterparty (at which the Minutemen were played), the evening was a success.
