Sept. 8 (saturday) at... get this.. the ANARCHY LIBRARY! First show there since Jan 05.
there are going to be some FANTASTIC bands on the bill once we nail it down.
here's what I originally had up:We comin' back to the Anarchy Library after a show in Jan 05 (WE PLAYED THERE several times in 02/03/04- the show in 05 was a bit ragged but we will fuckin' nail it this time)
Anarchy Library Sept. 9 2007 this was cutting it close- Metal and Meister were coming in on the bus at about 4- of course there was Saturday traffic, and I didn't get to the station until fucking 5- neither did they for that matter. But fortunately there was still plenty of time. Picked my wife up from work, we all went and had some bottom/food at this place near my home that serves bratwurst. After that we all went to Sugars where I played a set with Dick Politic (complete with guest Metalhed vox on "Bite It You Scum"). We then went to Anarchy Libray along with Vinny Malachi (guitar with Dick Politic, and guest bass when we played Clean and Full at Sugars in July- he didn't have a guitar or bass this time (left handed) so he kicked some backing vocals during Clean And Full. Wee wee.. fucking Myspace decided to erase about 3 sentences just now. Bitch. Anyway, the other band was the Sharted- they kicked ass, complete with papier mache guitar and an after-set puke session! They had some kick ass Thunders-ish rock and roll stuff. After all of this, we got a motel in Norwalk and commenced drinkin', watching some kung fu flicks, and making a beer-a-mid in the hotel room. Had to take Meister and Metal to the 'hound station early in the morning, and mistakenly blamed Metal for sloppily loading beers in the back of my truck causing them to tumble all over, even in the side pocket of the rear door. When I got home, I opened the rear door and beers came tumbling out onto the ground. Thank the lord none of them broke open (remember Ben Franklin's quote that "beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy"). So that's that. More to come!
stuff I forgot to put up from July!
July 22, 2007 - Sunday late ass gig reports! OK. I know. So here it is: June 23- my wife and I drive up to San Jose to practice with the Eyesores so we can nail it down at the show. We did finally get to jam for about 1/2 hour before the set. We then went down to where Toons was. The building for some reason wasn't open so we ate some burritos and had a couple beers at the Mexican restaurant nearby. Devious came stumbling in, and while I did buy him a beer, I very soon found reason to regret my decision. Finally the building opened up and we got our gear in. Since some dickless piece of shit had stolen my guitar cabinet the week before, I had to borrow Law Abiding Citizens' cabinet and head (a big thank you to Law Abiding Citizens!). The citizens played first and torched the place metaphorically with their punk rock. Their originals plus a cover of "In my Eyes" by Minor Threat knocked 'em dead. Plus our pal Beau was on bass. We started with Inside the Eye, which we haven't done in years, and also revived "I Hope You die" from the old Clockwork Eyesore tape (1995)- we never played that song even back then! Maybe at the F/X show in April95, but I doubt it. Fun shit. Devious was too drunk to do the Clean and Full rap, and later almost got his ass kicked for stumbling around and landing on people. He was later frogmarched out by security. Good thing the show went well, then because some prick stole Beau's mike. What had happened while we were getting started was that for some reason the sound on Beau's mike wasn't going through the PA. The PA guy came up and replaced it with a wireless mike. I heard later that he either put it down on the stage or took it back to his sound booth, but the end result is the mike went missing under mysterious circumstances, and the staff claimed not to have seen what happened. Not good. Within minutes of the ending of our set, the venue suddenly filled with hoochie mamas and hip hop music. Interesting transition. Everyone went back to their hotels and partied it up. We had a band breakfast at Denny's, then my wife and I went to the Winchester Mystery House. After that, the Eyesores jammed again, this time Stab (former guitarist) showed up and did a couple songs with us. Not too bad. AFterward, everyone went back to their respective places and crashed out. I went back to LA the next day. July 14 2007- Metal, Fist, Marianne, and her son were going to stay over at my pad the first night, but ended up at MeisterBrown's hotel about 1000 feet from Sugars. He'd taken the Hound. the next morning, we all met up and went down to Griff Dog studios in HB and Jammed for 3 hours, going over songs for the show. We later had a bottom (bottomless soda and some semi-foodlike material at Del Taco). The show that night ended up being cool even though we were stuck with opening slot. The set ended up even better than last time, with "I Hope You Die", and an extremely long extended "Inside the Eye", as well as the new arrangement for Stick Witch (featuring guitar harmonies). up next were Secret Wars from San Dimas, playing some Fugazi-ish tunes that rocked, then Malachi Brothers doing their thing, then Krax rocking Krax stye, and finally the Comrades who kicked ass. There was a hotel after party that I don't remember too much of. Then everyone went home the next day. More to come after the next show- watch for video postings on You tube! D0g July 22, 2007
