VIETNUN
Warrior Formation- currently played by Crash Coarse (as soon as we get a bassist or guitarist):
PHALLUS COOPER/THE IDIOT PARADE
but the Mp3.com songs are now HERE:
Tissue Tits/Pablo - the song Tissue Tits was actually co written between me and the original guitarist of the Idiot Parade, then with lyrics added by MEtalhed, it became an Eyesores song. When I took a leave of absence from the Eyesores, and formed a full band around the Idiot Parade, we began playing Tissue Tits, and Jobhunter. Metalhed and the Eyesores at that time (Meister Brown and Stab) repaid the compliment by playing "Beefstew Buzz", one of the Idiot Parade's songs that I'd written years before and originally played with the drummer of Jolt.
Bum In Training - a song I wrote about some "crusty Punk" who was begging outside the Tower records on bascom in San Jose, asked me for money, and when I ignored his sorry ass, tossed a coin of some sort at me.
REALAUDIO songs from El Kabong (guitarist/vocalist for the Idiot Parade from Jan 97-Jan 98)
Needle in My Arm (also available at MP3.com)
Here you will find El Kabong's website, guitarist for the Idiot Parade (a band Dog played in during 96/97). Very entertaining read. It's back online.
The Sadder Days- Erynn's (formerly guitarist of the Idiot Parade) new band
I realize there is very little music up on the net from the Idiot Parade, but hopefully I will be able to correct that soon. One of the main obstacles is the lousy recording quality of some of the tapes. I take full responsibility for that. When we origianlly did the record in mid-97, there were some problems with the sound quality. What I later discovered was that our equipment was recording at a very abnormally low level on the tape, and, especially with analog tape, if you record at a low level, the heads will pick up the same amount of tape hiss. I'm putting a few of these tapes in and it's a real pain in the ass having to push all the faders all the way up and still barely getting any sound out of the tapes. Excuses, excuses. Also, most of the material up now is skewed heavily toward the "El Kabong/Erynn/Andy/Amy" 1997 lineup of the band, and there isn't much of the 1996 band with Wesley and Craig, not to mention there isn't anything with Chris H up yet. This will change soon- hopefully I can find all the tapes and they are hopefully in usable quality. So I will do them a few at a time. I will say that Darrin, a friend of El Kabong, is a large part of why these tapes are listenable at all- he let us practice and record at his studio, and assisted us with the recordings during 1997. He was able to take cheap mikes, a cheap drumset, and get a good solid sound out of it- the problem with my recording equipment often obscured that. We did record a session on 8 track ADAT toward the end of the band, but no vocal tracks were recorded, and I don't believe it was ever mixed down. Too bad, as it would have been much farther ahead sound quality wise.
